The isimangaliso Birding Route is a Mtuba4u assisted project which aims
to introduce eco tourism and birding in particular to the rural population surrounding the
Greater St. Lucia Wetlands Park.
This project requires start-up capital or seed finance to get up and running. Once the
project is functional it will be self sustainable and should be making a profit by the end
of the second year of operation. |
For the isimangaliso Mini
Birding Route to be successful it requires the co-operation of many role players within
the tourism industry of the Elephant Coast and the Greater St. Lucia wetlands Park. The
management of NBR (isimangaliso Birding Route) will need to network with these various role
players and ensure that their interests are looked after within the larger frame work of
the project. Where there is a conflict of interest we will need some forum to debate
these issues and seek the broadest possible consensus, taking into account that this
project is a wealth creation project for the rural population of The Elephant Coast and
the Umkhanyakude District Municipality in northern Zululand KZN South Africa. |
